Yubi
Yubi was born out of the need for something that stood out among the usual brushes prevalent in the beauty industry in both form and function.
Our client wondered "Why do we need handles at all?" and wanted something small, simple, and portable. You could apply makeup with your hands but it is not very hygienic. This led to looking at how makeup could be applied using a brush that was not only portable but also hygienic, intuitive, and natural.

Design
When starting to ideate for Yubi we looked at small pads that fit in the palm of the hand, over-the-hand brushes, and flat sponges. We kept coming back to two fingers and the idea of applying make up with only those two fingers as if they were the brush. We began ideating designs that would fit over the fingers and still give the user greater control over the application of not only foundation but also highlighting and contour.
We also settled on interchangeable heads, one for a sponge and the other a brush. This allows for less clutter in your makeup bag and has a variety of uses.
Ideation & Brainstorming
Before settling on the final production colors we were tasked with generating renderings of various color combinations for QVC. This was a valuable step in deciding the final options and future potential colors.

Best Inventions of 2018
Yubi was selected as one of TIME Magazine's best inventions of 2018 for its ability to slide onto the users’ fingertips and it's dual head brush inserts. The product was also featured on the Home Shopping Network in 2019.
